由任留柱教授带领的环境与景观设计科研团队深入调研中原人居环境，利用科研成果应用于设计扶贫、乡建人才培养、生态环境保护等领域，如河南修武县“云上院子”民宿设计项目，先后荣获“全国最佳设计民宿”、“全国民宿top10”等荣誉。
The design research team led by Professor Ren Liuzhu has deeply investigated the living environment in the central areas and has applied the research results to poverty alleviation by using design, rural construction personnel training, ecological environment protection and other fields. The “Courtyard on Cloud, one B & B design project by the design team in Xiuwu County, Henan Province, for instance, has won the honors of National Best Design B & B” and National Top 10 B & B” successively.

近年来，由曹阳教授带领的工业设计科研团队利用建设的“工业设计中心”、“河南省国际联合实验室”等学科平台先后与宇通客车、日产汽车、海马汽车、海尔电器、奥克斯电器、格力电器等企业展开多种形式设计服务，形成设计产值过亿元。任建军教授科研团队与正兴科技股份有限公司紧密协作，提出“集成式供油系统”新概念有效解决了城市中心用地紧张与传统加油站用地面积较大的矛盾，设计出“加油岛式”用户模式及人机交互式加油平台等系列产品，最终该系统获授权发明专利2项，实用新型专利8项及外观专利6项，2019河南科技进步三等奖1项，实现累计销售额1.5亿元以上。
In the past decade, the design research team led by Professor Cao Yang has launched various forms of design services with Yutong Bus, Nissan, Haima, Haier, Aux, Gree and other enterprises by using the Industrial Design Center and Henan International Joint Laboratory and other discipline platforms, forming a design output value of more than 100 million yuan. In the latest cooperation with Censtar Technology Co., Ltd., Professor Ren Jianjun's design research team put forward a new concept of integrated oil supply system, which effectively solved the contradiction of the limited land resource in downtown area and the higher demand on land of the traditional gas stations. They designed a series of products such as Gas Island user mode and man-machine interactive refueling platform. Finally, the system was granted two patents for invention, eight patents for utility model, six patents for appearance, and had won the third prize of Henan Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019. In addition, this design has achieved a total sales volume of more than 150 million yuan.

由潘明歌教授带领的视觉与媒体设计科研团队与中国科学技术出版社、河南小樱桃动漫集团有限公司联合实施的《科普中国之小樱桃唱科学》于2020年被评为河南省科技进步二等奖，学科团队成员全程参与项目研发、创作、推广全过程，填补了河南省少年儿童科普MV动画领域的空白。
The work ‘Little Cherry Singing Popular Science in China’ made by design research team set up by Professor Pan Mingge, joined by China Science and Technology Press and Henan Little Cherry Animation Group Co., Ltd., has been awarded the second prize of Henan Province Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020. Members of the team participated in the whole process of project development, creation and promotion, which filled the gap in the field of children's popular science MV animation in Henan Province
扎根中原非遗保护领域，为非遗传承持续培养人才

2016至2020年，由曹阳教授、薛峰副教授带领的河南非遗研究基地承接了文化部、教育部组织的中国非物质文化遗产传承人群研培计划，负责培训河南地区的传统手工艺、民间美术类非遗传承人，使他们能够利用现代设计方法转化传统手工艺品，从而为非遗带来新的生命力。5年来共举办非遗研培班14期，培训非遗传承人712人，举办大型非遗创新作品展6次，观展人数突破10万人。
From 2016 to 2020, Henan intangible cultural heritage research base, led by Professor Cao Yang and Associate Professor Xue Feng, undertook the research and training program for inheritors of Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage organized by the Ministry of culture and the Ministry of education. It is responsible for training inheritors of traditional handicrafts and folk arts in Henan, with the main aim that they can use modern design methods to transform traditional handicrafts and bring intangible cultural heritage new vitality. In the past five years, 14 intangible cultural heritage research and training sessions have been held, 712 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage have been trained, and six large-scale intangible cultural heritage innovation works exhibitions have been organized, with more than 100,000 visitors.

2019年中华人民共和国第十一届少数民族传统体育运动会在河南郑州市举办，由曹阳教授和卢建洲副教授带领的科研团队承担了开幕式主场馆视觉设计任务，经过两个多月的设计论证及筹备，团队深入挖掘中原地方特色，凝练地域文化设计元素，最终提交的视觉设计方案获得民运会执委会审核通过，并在开幕式主场馆获得应用，获得了民运会主办方及现场观众的一致好评。
In 2019, the 11th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities of the People's Republic of China was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Professor Cao Yang and Associate Professor Lu Jianzhou’s design team undertook the visual design task of the main venue for the opening ceremony. After more than two months’ design demonstration and preparation, the final visual design scheme which explored the local characteristics of Henan and condensed the design elements of regional culture was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Games. It was applied in the main venue of the opening ceremony, and was highly praised by the organizers and the audience.
贡献设计智慧，为文化产品发展政策制定建言献策

视觉与媒体设计学科团队成员李玲博士向中国人民政治协商会议河南省委员会递交了《艺术衍生品的开发与创新研究》报告，通过对国内外主要博物馆及艺术机构长达一年的调研，李玲博士提出河南省作为文化和文物大省在艺术衍生品开发中存在的问题，并提出了相应的对策建议，该报告针对河南省文化产业的健康发展针对性较强，得到了河南省政协副主席高体健的亲自批示。随后2017年李玲博士团队在河南博物院举办的“金字塔 不朽之宫”展览中，与意大利都灵埃及博物馆紧密协作，针对144件展品推出了10套设计方案，将咨询报告的相关理论进一步实践验证。
Doctor Li Ling, a member of the visual and media design team, submitted a report called ‘the Development of Cultural Relics and Cultural Derivatives in Henan Province’ to the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese's Political Consultative Conference. This report is based on a year long investigation of major museums and art institutions domestic and abroad. Dr. Li Ling pointed out the problems existing in the development of art derivatives in Henan Province, which has abundant resources in culture and cultural relics, and put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The report is highly targeted at the healthy development of cultural industry in Henan Province, and has been personally approved by Gao Tijian, vice chairman of the CPPCC of Henan Province. Then, in 2017, Dr. Li Ling's team cooperated closely with the Egyptian Museum in Turin, Italy for preparing the exhibition of the Immortal Palace of Pyramids held by Henan Museum. 10 sets of design schemes for 144 exhibits had been launched in the exhibition, which further verified the relevant theories of the consultation report.
